Day 4 - Local Outreach
1/6/2025
Missions, whether local or foreign, are about ordinary people doing extraordinary things in the power of the Holy Spirit. There are exciting things that can happen when we choose to align our lives with God and allow his Holy Spirit to work through us.
Today we are looking and praying into local outreach. We use the word outreach which simply means to reach out to bring something to people who might not normally have access to it. In the context of church outreach, we are then able to bring relief to those in need but also take the gospel and hope of Jesus to those who normally would not have access or opportunity to hear about it. Community outreach is an essential part of the church's mission to be "salt and light". Community outreach creates a platform for the church to shine light in the darkness.
Through the power of the Holy Spirit and the platform of local outreach missions we have been able to see many lives changed and transformed by the power of Jesus. I love seeing how people change into a new creation and share how their life is no longer the same. We have seen many people come from backgrounds of brokenness, addiction, abuse, hurt, mental health issues as well as financial and social struggles.
In this next season we are believing for supernatural expansion and provision. We have seen growth in all areas of church, and we are believing that by faith God will bring an increase in the resources to expand our reach for the glory of God. We are taking territory for the Kingdom of God, taking back what the enemy has stolen, bringing light to the darkest of situations. We are praying God will give us the boldness to take steps of faith, we believe as we start the mission the means will follow. God is always faithful to his word.
Prayer points:
- Praying for greater reach in our community food hubs to reach the people who are in need both physically and spiritually.
- Praying for more opportunities to share our faith and the gospel with people in our local communities, the street teams, and prisons ministry.
- Praying for favour to attain new buildings to expand the work we are doing.
- Praying for spirit-led vision and new opportunities and fresh ideas.
- Praying for more volunteers, workers, resources, and provision.
- Praying for soft and receptive hearts on the streets and at the hubs.
